We're so thankful for the amazing leaders that faithfully serve in our local church family every day of the week. Their leadership, love, and compassion for people shows in everything they do. They're regular people like the rest of us, but they have a heart for God and a passion for the gospel.

Pastor and Mrs. Cowan

Doug Cowan

Senior Pastor

Pastor Cowan graduated from Hyles–Anderson College in the spring of 2002. Upon graduation Pastor Doug Cowan worked faithfully as an Assistant Pastor at the Bella Vista Baptist Church, of Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was there that God called Pastor Cowan to Las Cruces, New Mexico.

Pastor and Mrs. Cowan followed the call of God to Las Cruces, where they have given their lives to minister to the wonderful people of Las Cruces.

Since 2004, Pastor and Mrs. Cowan have been blessed to love the families of Las Cruces. They look forward to the many more great things that God has in store for His people at Cornerstone Baptist Church.

Chris Cowan

Associate Pastor

Bro. Cowan was called to preach in 1998. Remaining dedicated to God’s call on his life he worked diligently to graduate from Bible college with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pastoral Theology. He also has earned a Masters of Religious Education from Baptist College of America. He was called to the Cornerstone Baptist Church to serve as the Youth Pastor in 2014. In 2018, he was asked to be the Principal of Cornerstone Christian Academy. He currently serves as the Associate Pastor at Cornerstone Baptist Church and the Principal of Cornerstone Christian Academy.

Sam Geckler

Assistant Pastor

Bro. Sam Geckler surrendered to preach in December of 2012 while enrolled at Southern Indiana Baptist College. After earning his Bachelor in Theology he was called to serve as the Youth Pastor at his home church in 2015. In 2021, he and his wife, Deanna, relocated to Las Cruces to serve as Assistant Pastor at Cornerstone Baptist Church where he is Director of the Youth and Music Ministries.
